I won the painting of Serpentine Street that is shown on the site. The artist is Denise Maxwello who is the daughter of John Maxwell, former manager of the TD bank.

Maureen do you still have this picture? The first house on the right was built by my great grandparents and is still in my family today. If you ever decide to let this go please let me know.

I still have this picture. I think someone in my family will want it if I were to get rid of it but will keep you in mind. We made copies (8" x 10") and they turned out quite nice. The white house on the left is where we lived. I remember the Sargent family in the house across the street.

Re: my previous comments - should read "I own" the painting.

a rather fine painting...

On a related note, I have seen a painting by A.J. Casson (member of the Group of Seven), done in the late 1950s or early 1960s, of the iron-ore recovery stack south of Copper Cliff -- in fact I bid on it at auction but did not win it... :-( I will try to post a photo of it if I can find it again.

Our family lived on Serpentine and I have a lovely Bruno Cavallo painting of our end of the street.
