Do you know who painted the first 'Mickey Mouse' on Mickey Mouse Rock?  West side of Power Street opposite Short Street.

Apparently, the original Mickey Mouse was painted by Wilmer Hughes who lived at either 31 or 33 Power Street back in the 1930's and 1940's. The original was painted to the right and higher up than the one that is there now. This information was given to me by a lady who lived at 27 Power Street at that time.
The picture that is there now was painted by Michael Corrigan. It was touched up last year (2011) by a local group who were cleaning up graffiti (in memory of Sharon Milligan).
In the 1980's, Inco (Vale) gave the property (including Mickey Mouse Mountain) to the Separate School Board. They removed all the graffiti at that time (including the original Mickey Mouse)

Apparently the Mickey Mouse Mountain has been given to the City of Greater sudbury as Park land in exchange for land for the construction of the new school being built in the donovan.

My grand father , McClellan, lived at 10 Power st. Mickey mouse maintain is part of my child hood memories! Im trying to trace some genealogy so if you know anything more about the McClellans on power st that would be helpful! Children in that house were Stanton ( otherwise kitten as Tater who played hockey), Lois, Claire, Joyce, and Eric who died young after being hit by a car on his bicycle. Thanks for your help!

I was watching a movie called "A Fighting Man" and noticed Mickey Mouse Hill in the background of one of the scenes.

I lived up on Poplar St., now Colliins Dr., and I would walk to Copper Cliff P.S. and High School over Mickey Mouse every day. It was the shortest was to school. The memories!!

Does anyone have a photo of the original Mickey Mouse Hill? I want to show my grandaughters who are into bouldering - rock climbing.

Does anyone know what year the new Mickey Mouse was painted? I've been away for many years and this was the first place I visited. I knew right away something was "wrong". He seemed much smaller than I remember and way too lose to the street. Of ourselves I was MUCH smaller than I am today 😉🙃. Thank you for any information ion you can share. Much appreciated. Take care and stay safe out there...🥰

Mickey Mouse Rock is a fond memory of my growing up in The Cliff. I see some familiar names on this site. I was not aware of it till today!
